わー! It snowed the other day in 下北!とてもきれいでした!It was so beautiful!

My lovely 日本語の先生's prediction was right. Just as you think it's getting warmer and that winter is on it's way out, it starts to snow! Secretly I was so happy. Coming from Sydney where it never snows, it's so beautiful and fun for me. I was standing on my balcony squealing 'there's snow on me! there's snow on my arm!' ha ha. Can you tell from my snow excitement that I've only be living in Tokyo for almost a year!

And when I went for a walk in the morning I saw three snowmen!

  6. It looks lovely, although I wished I shared your enthusiasm about snow. I loved it when I was young ~ but now whenever there's snow everywhere, it becomes a lot more difficult. Travel, keeping warm and falling over, everyone here (uk) suddenly acts like the world has come to an end.

  7. I live in the Florida Keys so it never snows here and it is perpetually hot and humid. You have not idea how delightful these images are to me. I was counting the toes on the snow print, is that a 6 toed kitty? Delightful.

  10. It looks like everything has been coated with a delicious, thick layer of marzipan and dusted with icing sugar. So lovely!

  13. Be a fellow Australian who hasn't lived where it snows, I'd be squealing too! Love the photos from the night before. And the paw prints and pot plants. Adorable. Enjoy!

  14. Wasn't it just amazing! I was so overcome when I looked out my window Monday night. I'd just walked home from shimokita station with snowflakes falling, but assumed they'd just melt away like all the other times. But seeing everything covered in white was the most beautiful valentine's present ever! xx
