雪の下北 (Shimokita Snow)
わー! It snowed the other day in 下北!とてもきれいでした!It was so beautiful!
My lovely 日本語の先生's prediction was right. Just as you think it's getting warmer and that winter is on it's way out, it starts to snow! Secretly I was so happy. Coming from Sydney where it never snows, it's so beautiful and fun for me. I was standing on my balcony squealing 'there's snow on me! there's snow on my arm!' ha ha. Can you tell from my snow excitement that I've only be living in Tokyo for almost a year!
And when I went for a walk in the morning I saw three snowmen!
Some shots from the night before...

Love the photos! It was so pretty and exciting! I'm glad you were able to capture it so well.
ReplyDeleteI hope it snows again! x

ReplyDeletePretty! I love the little tracks in the snow <3
ReplyDeleteI live in Minnesota USA so it's ALWAYS snowing here but I still get so excited about the fresh fluffies!!!
aww thats so sweet. i still get excited about snow here too (england).. it always looks magical!
ReplyDeleteFabulous !
ReplyDeleteCute pics! I wish here looked also like that, but nooo, we have tons of snow here XD;
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely, although I wished I shared your enthusiasm about snow. I loved it when I was young ~ but now whenever there's snow everywhere, it becomes a lot more difficult. Travel, keeping warm and falling over, everyone here (uk) suddenly acts like the world has come to an end.
ReplyDeleteI live in the Florida Keys so it never snows here and it is perpetually hot and humid. You have not idea how delightful these images are to me. I was counting the toes on the snow print, is that a 6 toed kitty? Delightful.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe it's snowing that much in Tokyo! Vary cute with the paw-prints in the snow:)
ReplyDeleteI also looked at the "toes", lovely :-)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like everything has been coated with a delicious, thick layer of marzipan and dusted with icing sugar. So lovely!
ReplyDeletewhat a winter wonderland!
ReplyDeletei know you are probably WAY to busy but I'd love to see a post on accommodation in shimokitizawa....we definitely want to stay there next time we visit Tokyo (and this time we'll have our little bubba in tow!)
Beautiful photos sandwich, love the little footprints ^-^
ReplyDeleteBe a fellow Australian who hasn't lived where it snows, I'd be squealing too! Love the photos from the night before. And the paw prints and pot plants. Adorable. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWasn't it just amazing! I was so overcome when I looked out my window Monday night. I'd just walked home from shimokita station with snowflakes falling, but assumed they'd just melt away like all the other times. But seeing everything covered in white was the most beautiful valentine's present ever! xx
ReplyDeleteI love the snowman and I squealed at the widdle animal paw prints in the snow. Enjoy the snowflakes!
ReplyDeletei love Tokyo in the snow!
