Tokyo Winter Morning Sun

Photobucket

Goodmorning Sandwiches!

Tokyo Winter! Washing teeth with hot water, wearing hokkairo packs, not sitting too close to windows, hot water bottles, heated train seats, hot green tea, warming hands over the stove top cooking, wearing pompom gloves, cooking nabe, seeing icy snow piles on the side of the road and on rooftops, and, sleeping with a thousand blankets and waking up to beautiful morning sun.

I hope you are having a happy morning.

  1. Hello and good morning Sandwich!

I can imagine how beautiful your morning is.
I've just finished a breakfast with an egg, 2 slices of avocado and some sausages. And I've added lotsss of powdered cheese and herbs. So yummmmmmmmmm!

  4. Ooh sounds lovely. It's getting soo c-c-old. I hope you're keeping warm. I just went to Nagano and there was two metres of snow in 2 DAYS! Craziness. I was dreaming of mountains of blankets to nestle under just like your photo! x

  6. I was so pleasantly surprised by Tokyo in winter! I was pretty (okay very) fearful of being so cold I wouldn't want to leave the hotel but that wasn't the case at all! The weather was beautiful in that the skies were always clear and if you were well rugged up you could enjoy a whole day out and about without breaking a sweat or being freezing. Best of both worlds!
My fleece lined tights did definity assist in this though :) And the deliciously warm train seats. The seats on the subway in Kyoto almost felt tooooo warm... a little disconcerting haha. But I appreciated them all the same.
Glad to see you're back in Tokyo! (Also I saw your mum's shop has moved back to the other side of Parramatta Rd? I'm itching to get there to check it out)

  10. Waow, so *great* to wake up to so much sun!
I envy you ... I have cold and all, but the sun appears less often here in Paris than in Tokyo.
And your blanket-y nest looks so lovely!
Thanks for being back here and bringing us your beautiful pictures!
