I recently went to beautiful Kurashiki.

Kurashiki has a beautiful traditional area which looks like the photos above. I guess this might be the most beautiful part of the town but for me, I really can't resist the back streets. Below are some photos from my walks off the beaten track.

  6. Kurashiki was one of my favourite places to visit in Japan. The Bikan historical area is amazing with its 17th century wooden warehouses, especially in the evening and love the canal framed with weeping willows . Did you notice that this area has no electricity poles in order to make it closely resemble the look of the Meji period.

  7. I visited Kurashiki in July. I loved it. I went specifically to see the Momotaro Museum, which was equally awesome and wacky! I wish I had of had time to go to the art museum as well... maybe next time.

  10. Yay, Kurashiki! That's my city's (Kansas City, Missouri) sister city in Japan. We just celebrated our 40th anniversary as sister cities. Someday I'll get to visit Kurashiki in person but until then, I'll just look at your wonderful pictures.
